Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation
The Lake Wilderness Arboretum, in Maple Valley, is a 42-acre sanctuary that inspires, educates and connects its community to nature. Located next to Lake Wilderness Park, the Arboretum features five display gardens, an ethnobotanical trail, a 26-acre forest with hiking trails, and the Children’s Discovery Forest. The Arboretum has no admission fee and is open from dawn to dusk everyday of the year.
Developed and maintained primarily by volunteers, the Arboretum is protected for future generations through a partnership between the Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation, Lake Wilderness Park and the City of Maple Valley. The Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit that benefits from financial and volunteer support from the community.

Black Diamond Lakes
Lake Sawyer
Lake Sawyer is the fourth largest natural lake in King County with a surface area of 286.1 acres. The lake is located in Black Diamond, within the Big Soos Creek Basin of the Green River Watershed.
The lake is used extensively for boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing. Public access to the lake is from the park on the northwest shore and from Lake Sawyer Regional Park on the sound end of the lake. The City of Black Diamond annexed the lake and surrounding homes in 1998.
