Kevin Kalberg
BiographyGrowing up in a rural part of Renton Kevin developed a passion for the atmosphere of small towns with rural character. When searching for a home Maple Valley was a natural choice. From day one it just felt like he was home. His formal education led him to Central Washington University where he graduated with a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in small business management. During college Kevin moved through the ranks with a moving and storage company until he reached the position of controller. In early 2000 he left the moving and storage business to join the management team of Claffey's Painting. At the time Claffey's had 40 employees and modest sales. Today their sales have more than doubled and currently have 80 employees and operate in 10 counties across the state. In 2006 Kevin and two other partners formed Mold Solutions Northwest a mold prevention firm. This makes Kevin a 4th generation business owner! Kevin brought to Claffey's a belief that involvement and community service should be part of the culture in every business. He serves on many boards and commissions including North Bend's Economic Development Commission, the East King County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Coalition, the president elect of the Greater Maple Valley Black Diamond Chamber, and a founding member of the Central Washington Homebuilders Built Green association to name a few. Claffey's also partners with and gives time and resources to a number of charities and service organizations with a belief "to whom much is given much is expected". He believes that a strong business environment is the anchor for a healthy, active and successful community. Kevin lives in Elk Run with his wife and 3 kids. He is excited for what the future holds and the direction the Chamber is heading and looks forward rolling up his sleeves and helping in any way he can. EducationCentral Washington University
