Here's a great way to help out the community and promote your business. Sign up to volunteer to help with the Maple Valley Days parade duties and they will welcome you to sport your business gear (cards, brochures, wear a shirt, etc) wherever they are! Have a team of people - all wear your company shirts or hats There will be volunteer orientation on Wednesday June 7 from 5-6 p.m. at the library so that everyone is up to speed by the time parade day rolls around. However, the meeting isn't mandatory, but it's recommended! If your business is interested here's a link for a parade day volunteer sign ups: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a44ada72da4f58-2017 read more

Time to get ready for the annual "Hooked on Fishing" event at Lake Wilderness. The fun starts on Friday, April 21st through Saturday, April 22nd. This year marks the 15th annual "Hooked On Fishing" Opening Day Trout Derby on Lake Wilderness. This is actually an event that spans generations of opening day enthusiasts. The Maple Valley Lion's Club originally sponsored the derby decades ago until 1994. In 2003 when the City of Maple Valley acquired the park from King County, a partnership was forged by the chamber, Maple Valley Rotary, and The City to bring the traditional opening day celebration back to Lake Wilderness. Where else can you go so close to home to camp out all night, enter a derby, and eat a ham and egg breakfast with all you can eat pancakes at midnight under the stars? read more
